In 1998, Anne E. Bisgaard Rossi made a drastic decision. She left San Fransisco and a well-paying job in finance and established herself as a painter in Provence. She had worked five years in San Fransisco before this choice resulted in a quality of life she had hardly been able to envision.
-”I have never regretted my decision. In Provence I have found the life I dreamt of,” she says.
Since 2000 she has been living in Coursegoules, a small mountain village 16 km north of Vence in the Alpes Maritimes region.
Anne has her education in art from the USA, France and Norway.
Her style, which has become her trademark, is naivistic and somewhat semi-figurative. Her paintings are full of happiness and joy mainly due to the strong, vivid and warm colors she uses.-”I have so much happiness inside me. Since settling here and becoming a full time painter, my life has become absolutely fantastic. This place, the nature and the peacefulness gives me joy and energy. This shows in my work, which is probably why so many people say that my paintings make them happy,” Anne says.
Anne is originally from Bærum in Norway and has degrees in economics and political science in addition to art. She has been drawing and painting since she was a child and, since 1998, has made her living as a full time professional artist.
